MEET THE TEAM


John Callesen
Gas Turbines General Manager
John has matched Gas Turbines development step for step as the company grew from sideline marine and industrial operation to become a world-leading gas turbine MRO playing a decisive role in many of its successful growth strategies. Now as general manager John is ideally placed to align the business ever closer to its customers' needs. After hours, he calls the shots as a big band leader and conductor, and he also plays a mean saxophone.
Mal Waite
Commercial Manager
Mal's key responsibility is to deliver sustainable revenues through customer support and business development. Mal has been with ANZGT since its formation, and has held a number of key management roles, giving him a clear understanding of ANZGT's value proposition to customers. Mal manages the gas turbines sales, contract management, customer support and field services teams.
Kevin Hawke
Production Manager
Kevin has led the production team for six years, after joining the business from Air New Zealand Technical Operations. He led a component repair operation in that business and qualified as a six sigma black belt. Kevin played a pivotal role in helping the workforce redesign ANZGT's processes to improve its turnaround time and productive capacity, while also locking in quality enhancements for the benefit of all customers.
Alan Clark
Quality, Safety and Support Manager
Alan looks after Gas Turbines' quality, safety and support systems, focusing on compliance and training. His management portfolio also includes ANZGT's Tech Services team. Alan joined ANZGT in 1998 after a 22 year career in the South African Air Force, where he was an Engineering Officer. He has been involved in the ANZGT business from the shop floor up through various supervision and management roles, where he gained the skills and experience required to fulfil his current role.
Alex Robins
Business Development Manager
Alex is a career business development manager. He has worked across government, aviation, oil and gas, defence and automotive industry sectors. Alex's role within Gas Turbines is to position the business for strategic opportunities with significant revenue potential. This includes the development of global strategic partnerships.
Mark Mitchell
Bids and Contracts Development Manager
Mark is a professional lawyer drawing his commercial law experience from roles at a large corporate law firm and as well as 'in-house' for large corporations. Mark and his team are responsible for all aspects of the bids and contracts process from preparing proposals through to managing contract development and negotiations. Throughout this process a key focus is placed on preparing highly competitive and innovative solutions tailored to meet each customer's specific needs.
